Middle Of The Road

Middle Of The Road

I have traveled so many roads
In so many different lands
And in more worlds than I can count
There is always so much to see
So many travel as I do
Some walk down the right side of the road
Some walk down the left
All they see is what’s right beside them
But, I have never been like them
I never stray from the center line
That way I can see both sides of the road
The good sides and the bad
And I always feel safe

Because I know the world better than the others

Your Fairy Land

Your Fairy Land

Walk with me
Stroll down a medieval street
Flowers covering a stone home
Their scents filling the air
Even if you wear your jeans and tee
As long as you hold my hand
And I can see your beautiful smile
You will always be milady
Wearing the finest dress ever made

As you walk through a real fairy land

So Many Voices

So Many Voices

So many voices
All screaming
Sharing their ideas
Some are good
Some are bad
Some are just stupid
But they all still shout
So many voices together
Yet they scream separately
There are no words of unity
No one can hear anything
All the ideas jumble together
Making no sense at all
So, stand alone
Make your point with wisdom
And do not yell
Someone will listen

And something will be done

Your Light

Your Light

I know one thing
My love for you will never end
And I know that no matter where I am
You will never allow me to be lost
I will always know my way home
All I must do is look into the sky
And look for the light of your heart
It will always lead me home
And into your arms

Right where I belong

I Will Wait

I Will Wait

I know that I will not wait forever
I will wait for an eternity
No matter how cold it gets
The time of night is not important
I know that as long as I wait
There will be a single minute
I will see you walking down the path
And even if it has been decades
Please remember that I will at that bench
Waiting and watching for you

Just to tell you that I love you

A Reason For Cuteness

A Reason For Cuteness

God made babies cute
And he did it for a reason
The bright eyes
The sweet innocent smile
And the rosy cheeks
They are all a plot
He knew His babies would scream
Would poop and pee all over everything
They would throw up on our best clothes
And spit their food in our faces
But He made them cute
So we could forgive them
We’d smile and say that they are cute
No matter what they did
Then we could go to OUR rooms
To thank God for making them so damn cute
And to dream about the day when they have a child
And it turns out the same way they did
Just as cute so they will stay out of trouble
At least until they become two years old

And then watch out!

Sincerely Yours

Sincerely Yours

I have said it so often
Maybe too often
But it was the right way to end a letter
At least that is what I was told
Sincerely yours never really meant anything
They were just two words above my name
We met a while ago
Both rushing to catch a plane
You gave me your address and asked me to write
Letter after letter passed between us
Each time we got closer
Until one day when I wrote ‘sincerely yours’
It was no longer just an end to a letter
I wrote it as a promise to you

A promise to be sincerely yours forever and a day

A Speck Of Dust

A Speck Of Dust

I have some news for you
We all know what you think
You are the center of the universe
A special blessed being
The only one who matters
But we all know better
You are not the center of the universe
You are not the center of the galaxy
You are not the center of the solar system
You are not even the center of our planet
What you are is an insignificant speck of dust
Floating on another piece of dust
Swinging around a burning piece of dust
Which floats around with other pieces of dust
Your ego created a universe around you
But to the rest of us
We have something to tell you
You are a speck of dust like the rest of us

No better and no worse

Drifter

Drifter
By R.e. Taylor

You call me a drifter
I think I am an explorer
Even though I may never leave my country
I travel looking for new lands
New cities, villages and towns
Each with their own cultures
Their own traditions
And sometimes their own language
But no matter where I roam
Or what I may see
Wherever I am when the sun sets
For that night
That will be home to me
