The Beauty Of Embers

The Beauty Of Embers
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The fires died long ago
Ember keeps the night warm
But darkness surrounds it
Allow the song of nature to play
And the lights of a billion stars to shine
Even with all of that happening all around
The soft glow of the fading embers shines
Letting the world know that flames are not the only beauty
The lack of a living flame may be as beautiful
Maybe even more so on a warm summer evening
When the stars, the sounds, and the darkness
They all combine with the soft red glow
And together they make a perfect scenery

Minnesota

Minnesota
By Lord R.e. Taylor

He is watching you, Minnesota
All the theft and murder you allow
Crimes committed by those who do not belong
Your governor supports evil
Protecting it as it runs your streets
The lead retard gives them shelter
Hiding them from the righteous warriors
But the righteous will find them
You cannot hide from his vision
He is always watching you
But he is going to keep watching you
Waiting until you destroy yourselves
And he will watch the reckoning
The one you’ve summoned for yourselves

Baby, Please Stay Safe

Baby, Please Stay Safe
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Little one, do not look around
Stay in your mother’s embrace
Even though your world is gone
Destroyed all around you
She will keep you healthy and safe
It is her job to allow you to grow up
And wander the world all alone
When the time comes, remember her
And how tightly she held you
You should do the same for your children
And she is sure that you will
After all...you learned from your mother
The best teacher you could ever have

The Train Station

The Train Station
by Lord R.e. Taylor

He was just a child
He would watch the trains
Every night at the same time
It was never more than ten minutes late
That was how he learned to tell time
They became his life
Then the day came when the trains stopped
It had been so many years
No one knew it was going to happen
But one day it was gone
Now he is an old man
That train stop is still making a few memories
But he does have one wish
When he dies, please let him die on that lonely bench
That way, it will be his first step to heaven

Your Treasured Rain

Your Treasured Rain
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You have been sitting for so long
The rain hits your bare skin
Your eyes closed, so you treasure the feeling
You are not paying attention to anything else
So, you just sit and enjoy the special rain
Until a boat must rescue you from the flood

Chances

Chances
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The air seems too quiet
Almost as if nothing else ever existed
But even the smallest pebble can make a change
It might be a change we all would want
Or a change that would destroy everything
Sadly, we do not get to make a choice
The pebble and the water make the choice for us
All we can do is watch and see how it turns out
And hope we will be able to be happy again
But that is all up to chance and the mood of a stone

Will It Ever Stop

 Will It Ever Stop

by Lord R.e. Taylor

So many people all together

Not an angry word can be heard

Everyone is getting along fine

But there are a few

They hate some group of innocent people

Feeling that they are right

They start screaming and fighting

Attacking anybody whom they consider lesser life

It could be race or religion

Maybe where they were born

Something just makes them worse than us

Makes their lives totally worthless

Most people do not hate

But it only takes a few assholes

Armed with guns and bombs

And too many are victims

Wounded and murdered in just mere moments

Massacre added to the list

And more families in grief

All because of unnecessary bigotry and hate

And we cannot say stop

Her Loss

Her Loss
by Lord R.e. Taylor

No one ever speaks to her
They do not look at her
She does not exist
But they can hear her sobs
See the puddle of tears below her
They do not know why she does it
Just that every moment of every day
She can be seen in the same place
Holding a soft pink blanket
Sadly, it is all torn and dirty
But to her, it is made of the softest silk
And it is the most beautiful  thing ever
The blanket her baby was wrapped in
So long ago when she took her first and last breath
When that woman gave up any hope
Now all she does is cry for what she had
And for what she lost

The Lonesome Walk

The Lonesome Walk
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Walk with me down the loneliest path
A path where the spoken voice is never heard
But cries of past sorrows faintly echo through the marble
So many years have passed with so much death
More than enough death to build a city of tombs
Sometimes a bitter smell fills the air
Sweet and sickening at the same time
A last reminder that, despite what you believe
These pathways are not made for the living
They are there for those who cannot walk with us
But they are always there, maybe closer than you think

If We Could Remember

If We Could Remember
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Sit with me along the canal
Birds chirping as swans swim by
This must have been what it was like
Back when wars were far off
And hate speech was never heard
A time of medieval kings and queens
And people just celebrating being alive
You know the Middle Ages were long ago
But their traces may still be found
Just to show us what life could be like
If only we could remember it

A Moon Of Love

A Moon Of Love
by Lord R.e. Taylor

He looks down on us
We only see him for a few days a month
He crosses the sky as lovers appear
His light entered their souls
Warming their hearts to each other
His love takes two people and makes them one
Wanting to share their lives now and forever
Thanks to the power of a silvery light
And the smile from the man in the moon

Sunna, My Goddess

Sunna, My Goddess
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I cannot believe my eyes
A true vision of beauty
Wrapped in a warm cloak of light
The Sun truly honours you
Protecting your beauty from darkness
It knows who you are
An ancient goddess comes to modern times
I am sure that you will be worshipped
Loved by everyone who meets you
I was lucky enough to see you
To hear the sweetness of your voice
And look into your eyes
Sunna, you have my love, my heart, and my soul
I love you and will until time stops for me
And most likely throughout the rest of eternity
Just the way a goddess such as you should be loved
