Mary

Mary

Mary, have you seen better days?
Do you remember when you smiled?
When you were happy
A cheerleader
A princess
The hot girl everyone wanted to date
One night that all changed
A mistake that changed your life
Now you walk the streets
Pushing a carriage
Carrying the baby who you love
But never wanted at your age
Praying for just one day like before
One day to smile
One day where you don’t have to worry
Praying for one day not to be a mother
Just to live the life you gave up
Mary, have you seen better days?
Do you remember when you smiled?
When you were happy

Why Do You Judge Me?

Why Do You Judge Me?

Why do you judge me?
I am not like you
My world is not the same as yours
The world is different to me
My reality will never be yours
And I would not want it to be
I am a man, a mortal man
Darkness attracts me
I prefer demons to angels
A dragon should be my pet
Still I am just a man with feelings
Living on the same planet as you
In the same eternal universe
So, why do you judge me?

The Painting

The Painting

Hanging above the fireplace
Her eternal beauty framed in gold
Perfectly trimmed ginger hair
Covering skin made of the purest silk
In her hands of ivory a flower rests
What is she thinking as she smells her flower?
Is there something in the way she stands?
The way her hand cups the fragile petals
Are her closed eyes hiding a sadness?
Are they holding back tears of joy?
Those are questions that will never be answered
She will not reveal her secrets
She is just a beauty hanging on a wall
Smelling a rose
Surrounded by a golden frame

No Star To Follow

No Star To Follow

Where are the gods I have followed?
The stars they have given to me are gone
They have changed their positions
Even the star fixed to the north is gone
I have no idea where I have been
No idea where my travels will take me
The gods have forsaken me
Left me to wander with no direction
I will walk anywhere and everywhere
Looking for just one star to lead me home

Suicide Rock

Suicide Rock

Standing at the edge of Suicide Rock
Looking over the edge your mind wanders
How many have taken the final leap?
Did they feel that there was no hope?
Maybe they were hungry
Maybe they lost their freedom to choose
They thought that there was no other way
The winds off of the ocean still carry their screams
The coldness reflects the pain their bodies felt
Even the rain is only the tears of their sadness
It is so hard to look over the edge
There is something pulling you over
Wanting you to fly into the air
Needing you to fall to your death
It is so hard to resist
Almost impossible to step away from the edge
Still people travel to the rock
They take their children to play beneath
They take pictures over the edge
Looking for the blood of those who made the choice
People still take their lives at the edge of Suicide Rock
They still fall to a painful, bloody death
And still the people laugh and play
They do not think about what has taken place
They do not care about the spirits that surround them
They simply want to eat and play
Nothing more, nothing less
Until the next person falls to their death
And then they will notice

Pleasures Of The Night

Pleasures Of The Night

Music wafting through the night air
Melodies written centuries before
Still taking away the stress of the day
A cool breeze carrying the scent of distant flowers
Incense burning on the dresser
Its smell fills the room with ecstasy
Complementing the fresh smells of nature
Moonlight filters in through an open window
Lighting the room with a mystical glow
Such are the pleasures only the night can bring
