הדגל המרופט

הדגל המרופט
על ידי Lord R.e. Taylor

Tiny Paradise

Tiny Paradise
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Ten foot by ten foot
It is so tiny
Still, I love it
My little piece of paradise
A lot of sun and fresh air
The waves in the background
I know I am finally home

In The Drawer

In The Drawer
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Everyone has that one drawer
It was your grandma’s
Then your mother had it
And now you are the blessed one
You have never seen inside of it
Not even imagined what was in it
No one has in a very, very long time
All you know is that it is a treasure
Your grandma and mum took a look
Someday you will too
You will not have a choice
And you will see something spectacular
A complete history of what makes you you
And what makes you special

We Will Never Behave

We Will Never Behave
by Lord R.e. Taylor

My mom always said to behave
She raised us as young ladies
I guess we never listened
We became the strange ladies
The ones everybody talked about
The one who forgot how to behave
So we live our lives without limits
Realising life is too much fun
And that we can never ever die
Because God does not want us
And the Devil is afraid of us
After all, we might just take over

A Special Girl

A Special Girl
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Who knew what you were getting
A beautiful painting
Yes, it should be in a gallery
But it found its way to you
It must have known you were special
You always saw the truth behind pictures
You look beyond the canvas and paint
And you see the world others only imagine
Yeah, the painting knew you were special
And now we know it too

Sitting In Paradise

Sitting In Paradise
by Lord R.e. Taylor

For far too many Summer days
I would spend hours upon hours
Not doing anything important
Rather I would just sit by the Cuyahoga
There were no swimmers and no boats
Just the gentle sound of the water
Maybe a frog or some birds
But most of all it was just quiet
Could I ever find a better paradise
I really don’t think so
But, then again, I am not looking

The Sun Rises

The Sun Rises
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The Sun rises on a new day
A young child climbs from the rubble
Crawling over the bodies of her family
She finds her last loved-one
A teddy bear given her at her birth
Even with her best friend with her
She still feels alone and helpless
And this October 8th is just the first day
Of many lonely days filled with heartache

One Moment

One Moment
by Lord R.e. Taylor

He knows you have only spoken once
It was only just a moment in time
But in that moment he felt something
His heart was no longer his
It was given to you to hold and treasure
It may have been just a moment
But the feeling of his love was real
And it will never ever leave him

Monarch

Monarch
by Lord R.e. Taylor

As the night falls the moon will rise
And the first cold breezes of autumn appear
Some face their new life as a duel with survival
Living in the bareness of metropolitan asphalt
It is only then when the beautiful monarch
Takes a grasp of their own fate
Leaving the grimace of reality behind
Travelling thousands of kilometres
To a land where all lives come together
Animals, plants, and insects fuse into a hybrid
A domain, a home, for all to thrive
And survive a changing world

Legendary Path

Legendary Path
by Lord R.e. Taylor

What kind of history does this place have
Maybe it was just a footpath
Leading between Native American camps

It may even be older than that
Or it may be just a few years old
Either way, it is a site that creates stories

I hope that people still walk down that path
Remembering those who may have traveled before
And maybe they will create stories of their own

So the path will remain alive forever

Be Strange

To push the limits
Ignore common sense
Enjoy the little things
And do not obey authority

April 8th

April 8th
by Lord R.e. Taylor

We were warned what was coming
Floods and earthquakes
Increasing human sacrifice
And so many other curses
All of that based on ancient myths
Even so millions of people celebrated
Booking vacations months ahead
Settling anywhere they could find the room
All for a four minute show only we can see
It will reappear in four years and a world away
But no matter what history tells us
There is nothing bringing doom to us all
Just a solar eclipse made to amaze us
And show us the true beauty of the universe

Author’s Words

Author’s Words
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I love reading a book
Seeing where the author takes me
Maybe it’s a different world
Somewhere in another reality
Or maybe somewhere here on Earth
A place that I never imagine existed
Either way I allow my mind to open
I see my reality twist and turn
Their words become my truths
When I walk through their creations
And I am completely amazed

My Little Baby Girl

My Little Baby Girl
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You were my little girl
You were to be all sugar and spice
Frilly dresses and Barbie Dolls
That was before you saw real life
It may have changed you
Some say for the better others for the worse
But, through it all I still see my sweet baby girl

Just Listen

Just Listen
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The Rainbow Bridge never came
So he hovers above us all
Growling and snarling
Warning us about stupid things we do
No, he does not want to be petted
He just wants us to listen

To Die Alone

To Die Alone
by Lord R.e. Taylor

No one tells your story
There is never a question
You are not even remembered
Sometime in the past you were loved
Treasured as a part of the family
But suddenly you just got pushed aside
Maybe it was just because you grew old
Could not do everything you used to do
They could have just grown tired of you
So, they left you in a field
All alone with no one to mourn for you
Not even a single person telling you goodbye
You should never have died such a sad death
Still, know that someone may remember you
You will be talked about
Even if no one listens

Remember A Better Life

Remember A Better Life
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Remember a time when being a kid was fun
You could play outside and not have to worry
If you got hurt you just walked it off
You took chances which you knew were stupid
But it was all in the name of having fun
Even if you did get hurt there was always a band-aid at home
And your mom sent you right back out
That perfect life was sixty years ago
Kids today are not allowed to play
They are not allowed to get hurt
They live their lives wrapped in bubble wrap
And that is no life at all

Hell’s Pathway

Hell’s Pathway
by Lord R.e. Taylor

When I was young
Everyone told me how to live
How to find the way to Heaven
It was not that easiest of a path
Rules upon rules to follow
You have to behave their way
But all that is really confusing
I tried to be the person they wanted
I never found the path to Heaven
And guess what … I do not care
I know where I am going
I guess I always did
The pathway is just as pretty
But it fits me and who I am
So, I will see you in Hell
Once my age-long trip is over

Remembering Old Theaters

Remembering Old Theaters
by Lord R.e. Taylor

For so many years
More than we care to count
Movies were the place to go
A single stand-alone theater
With a couple thousand people
All watching the same thing
Showing on a single screen
With an ice-cold Coke
Hot buttered popcorn
And your arm around your girl
Was there ever anything better
Then one-by-one they closed
Replaced by heartless multi-plexes
A few dozen seats and nothing else
But rarely you can still find  a perfect theater
Make sure to go there and relive your memories
Before it is lost just like so many before it

The Loss Of Markets

The Loss Of Markets
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The market has always been
A warm world in the cold city
People working in so many stalls
Selling everything you could ever want
So many of the market’s people became legends
With their stories told over and over again
Stories of friendship and love
And maybe a few about hidden treasures
Sadly too many markets and the stories are gone
Lost to a world of Walmarts and Targets

Where did they go
Wiped away by time
Destroyed by a new reality
If only we could be like that again

Masterpiece Of Ash

Masterpiece Of Ash
by Lord R.e. Taylor

A few artists truly know how it works
Creation coming from destruction
All it takes is a small flame
Touching the tip of any kind of wood
And when it is used just right
A masterpiece in ash is created for the world to see

Whatever

Whatever
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Watch the news
Any of them
Biden tries to make sense
Trump pushes the limits
Gaza wants a Big Mac
Israel wants revenge
Elections are just funny
The world is short a bag of chips
We listen and try to make sense
But that is just not ever going to happen
Instead of fretting about it all
Just say “whatever” and let the world go
After all, you have a mind so use it
“Whatever”

Along with a single cup of coffee
I will be just fine

Abandoned

Abandoned
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I am still just a baby
I did not ask to be born
But I tried to be good
I really did
Believe it or not I loved you
I thought you were my new family
I don’t think you saw me that way
Now, I wait on the side of a lonely road
Waiting for you to come back
But that may never, ever happen
So, I promise that I will be a good boy
If only someone will give me a chance

Wishing In The Mist

Wishing In The Mist
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It doesn’t matter what season
When that moment comes
The one just before the Sun rises
It has got to be that perfect minute
Not too cold and not too hot
Just a soft grey mists surrounding you
That allows your dreams to flow
Maybe, once the mists begin to rise
One or two dreams may come true
But be sure to be quick
Once the Sun rises the mists disappear
Taking your dreams with them

Waiting

Waiting
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Back when I was a puppy
I ran around and never rested
We used to play in the yard
Chasing balls and bones you threw
We’d walk everywhere we could
Most time I wasn't on a leash
You know I never ran away though
That was really not too long ago
Now I am an old man
But I still wait quietly for you
Hoping we can go out again
Just one more time
Before the Rainbow Bridge calls

Auroral Beauty

Auroral Beauty
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Nature can really put on a show
Some we can see every day
Others are more magical
They are literally at the end of the world
Every night space and the Earth merge
Creating sheets of light which fill the sky
Each one more beautiful than the last
Sadly, everyone has seen pictures
But only a few have ever seen the show
That is truly a crime of interstellar propositions

A One In A Million Picture

A One In A Million Picture
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The world was created so long ago
Billions of years passed
Life came and life went
Each generation better than the last
But some things had to wait
Just the right flower
Blooming at just the right moment
Where the right person happened to be
Then a one in a million picture was taken
And a visual treasure was created

No Goodbye

No Goodbye
by Lord R.e. Taylor

After so long it has come
My final day and my final night
No more sunrises or moonfalls
I have faced everything you sent my way
Fought with every ounce of my being
Even with that my universe keeps getting worse
Now I stand on the edge of an abyss
Looking down into what I feel is hell
I know that if I take one step and it is over
I also know that I will never say goodbye
My universe doesn’t even deserve that word
