Everything

Everything

Everything has already happened
And everything has still to happen
No one knows when or where
But everything will come and bite us
Or maybe it has already taken a nip
Of course, there is nothing we can do
We can’t stop it from happening
Or happening again
That may worry some
Worrying about something they can’t change
Living with enough stress to choke a horse
And dying with a grimace on their faces
Others may just not care
They do not know the past
They don’t want to know the future
They just want to live in the moment
And let whatever happens happen
Whatever everything comes to you
Just live it and let everything go
Because it will come around again

And you still won’t be able to do anything

Train On A Broken Track

Train On A Broken Track

At one time you created a country
Traveling through land where no one would go
You saw the buffalo massacres
Families moving into the new frontier
Into cities built up along your tracks
But there were men who hunted you
Jesse James, Butch Cassidy and Elmer McCurdy
They became America’s anti-heroes
Men who became legends which still live on
Did you know any of those men
Are they the reason you were left all alone
Dead and resting on rusted and broken tracks
You go ahead and keep your secrets
We will write our own stories
In a few you may be the hero
But, I promise that every story will be good

And you will be remembered

The Gate

The Gate

I know that gate
It burns in my thoughts
I was born behind it
A world of demons and angels
All fought for my soul
Tearing it with claws and wings
I had given up any chance to be me
Until the gate fell and I was freed
But still they tormented me
Every minute of my life
I knew that they would pull me back
So, when I die find any gate but that one
And lay my body to rest deep beyond
In a place where they can't find me
And for the first time in forever
My soul will run free as it should have been
And how it will be forever more

The No Name Girl Of Cranberry Bridge

The No Name Girl Of Cranberry Bridge

I have seen her everyday
Crouching down on my way to work
Always wearing the same dress
Never wearing shoes
It was like she had nowhere to go
Sweet and innocent, a beautiful child
She never smiled or spoke to anyone
She was always just there
Like a statue on the Cranberry Bridge
Somehow, she manages to survive
I do not know how
But, after all this time I do not fear seeing her
I fear that day when I cross the bridge
And she is no longer there
A no name girl which no one saw

But a no name girl who may yet be missed

A Rainbow Will Come

A Rainbow Will Come

It doesn’t matter who you are
Storms will always find you
Surround you with darkness
And set fear into your heart
But you will always survive
You will become stronger
And each storm will pass
A rainbow always follows a storm
And it will show you the way to go
Hopefully lifting your heart

And allow you to feel better

The Swing By The River

The Swing By The River

He was never one of those kids
The ones who didn’t like to have fun
He would climb dangerous rocks
Catch snakes bare-handed
And hitchhike to distant towns
There was one thing he could never resist
That was a swing over a flowing river
It didn’t matter if it was winter
And the water was near freezing
Or if it was the middle of July
And the water was warm and comfy
He would swing out and drop
Splashing and swimming when he did
That was so long ago
He is no longer that young boy
But, he still looks at every swing
And he remembers the water surrounding him
For a moment, just a moment

He is that young boy once again

Dream

Dream

Go ahead and dream
It may never happen
It may not be possible
But, that shouldn’t stop you
Let your mind wander
Dream as wild as you can
Let no one ever stop you
One day a dream will come true
And it will make your life

You Keep The Rain

You Keep The Rain

You have waited so long
Listening to our prayers
And choosing to ignore them
Out plants withered and died
Grasses turned a deathly shade of brown
And our animals lay dead in the fields
Was it a game for You
Just to see how far You could push us
Well, we stood strong before You
Stronger than You thought we would ever be
Go ahead, keep the rains from us
We know that You can do that
But, just so You know
We will be here with or without You
And maybe that will bother You, maybe not
But we don’t care anymore, and You don’t matter

Chapter One

Chapter One

Two words every author knows
Either they warm the heart
Or send shivers down the spine
They are the beginning of a dream
A story that has to be told
But will their words be the right ones
Ones that draw interest in
Or ones that will turn a reader off
Hours may be used just looking
Deciding what to do next
But eventually the words do come
Right or wrong they are laid to paper
Then the ideas flow like a river
Page after page is filled
Until an author’s favorite words come to play
And they can write “The End”
Then they can move on once again
And once again write those two dreaded words

And “Chapter One” will start again

The World Is Burning

The World Is Burning

Everyone knows it’s coming
But not a single person will say it
The world is starting to burn
It isn’t a single country
Or even a single person
Things are just falling apart
We have nothing to say about it
And we better not find anything to say
Our leaders don’t want us to know
They want everything to happen
They want to show their power
Never mind their people
Every country is burning down
The planet is dying, and we don’t know
Rather, we are not allowed to know
They will not stop until all is done
Until the Heavens themselves burn

And then it will be too late

God's Garden

God’s Garden

Someone takes days or weeks
Planting one plant after another
Setting them in a certain pattern
They feed and water them
Caring for them as best they can
But there is only so much they can do
God has to look down on their work
Decide what colours would look the best
And touch each flower with His blessings

And make the garden a masterpiece
