The Last Bit Of Hope

The Last Bit Of Hope
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The last morsel of light
Shining through the window
Showing the last bit of faith
Before the darkness closes in
And the world’s shredded hope
Can no longer be seen

You Were A Surprise

You Were A Surprise
By Lord R.e. Taylor

You were so cute
A little puppy locked in a cage
Not excited at all
But we did see you smile at us
It was then we fell in love
That was not you though
The hidden power of an atom bomb
It constantly drove us crazy
But it was who you always were
And how could we not love that

Dreaming Of You

Dreaming Of You
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Sleep sneaks up on me
Taking me into its own reality
Dreams where you and I hold hands
Walking in the greenest forest ever created
Sharing our love with a deep, passionate kiss
Other times it takes me to a nightmare
Where you stand just outside my reach
Then you just turn and walk away
Letting the fog of time turn you into a memory
That takes my soul away and destroys my life
I pray every night for a single dream
So, it can make my life worth living
Let me know that I am allowed to love you

Life Without A Pardon

Life Without A Pardon
By Lord R.e. Taylor

He never committed a crime
Never hurt anyone
His only crime was being born
Now he has a life sentence
Locked away behind bars
No trial and no lawyer
Only one person decided
He is the one who needs pardoned
Released back to his home
But that is never going to happen
At least as long as people like his suffering

Soul Of A Swan

Soul Of A Swan
By Lord R.e. Taylor

It is such a rare moment
A miracle of miracles
The soul of a swan
The most beautiful of birds
Entering the human world
Creating perfection
A woman beyond all others

Blessings Of The Night

Blessings Of The Night
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The sun goes down
At that moment your soul changes
New dreams and fantasies
Spoken and unspoken
Fill your heart and mind
Desires you never knew you had
Lead you to sensations you never knew
And wishes made you hope will come true
Others made you hope will never be granted
Only shared when the daylight dies
And the night takes control of what it owns
So, bless the night and all it offers
After all, it is made just for you

Two Beautiful Souls

Two Beautiful Souls
By Lord R.e. Taylor

No matter the distance
No matter the differences
Two beautiful souls will find each other
And they will become one

Hello To Your Ghosts

Hello To Your Ghosts
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I have known many ghosts
Most were friendly
Just people who never left
Mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters
Just people like you and me
No reason to be afraid
They just want to say hello
So, say hi back and don’t panic
I think they would appreciate that
In fact, I know they would

My Love Of Nature

My Love Of Nature
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I may be different
Not quite looking normal
I just have a love of nature
And my spirit shows it
So, please accept me for who I am

Days Of Gold

Days Of Gold
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The world is mostly green
With months of pure white
A few rare days out of the year
The white and green cannot be found
The world becomes a golden land
Reds, yellows, oranges, and gold
Colours which cover every inch of reality
Truly is amazing for anyone to behold
Sadly, it does not last for long
Turning to brown as the time passes
Then comes the white and green
Until October comes around again
And the cycle starts all over

Ode To Joe

Ode To Joe
By Lord R.e. Taylor

You lived a long life
Have done so much
But you have a history
Four dead in your first life
Thirteen dead in your second
Did you care about them
Do you care about anything
Surely not about the hundreds left behind
I guess they never mattered
They were all just Americans
The people you swore to protect
The people who gave you your job
And the people who will remember
So, see if you have the job when they get angry
Maybe you will care about that

Dedicated to the memory of
all those lost in Afghanistan and Benghazi

A B&W World

A B&W World
By Lord R.e. Taylor

So much colour
Flooding our senses
It wasn't always like that
Some of the best stories ever
Never saw a touch of colour
Their world was black and white
And every grey in-between
But then the world was different
People were different
That was a long time ago
We can remember but never go back
Colour is here and it ain't leaving

A Single Sunflower

A Single Sunflower
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The world may be bad right now
Everything looks dark and grey
And your hope may be lacking
But there is a sign out there
All you must do is look around you
If you can find a single sunflower
That flower is nature’s omen
A great omen to say the least
The world will be alright
All you have to do is believe
