Watching

Watching
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Eyes beyond compare
Watching every movement
Waiting for a weakness
Telling the heart to be ready
Another soul will be yours
Just as nature intended

Messy Morning Hair

Messy Morning Hair
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Mornings are the worst
Waking from a good sleep
But there are always thoughts
Worries from the night before
There is a friend waiting for you
A nice hot cup of coffee is there
It will solve anything and everything
Except for messy morning hair
Coffee cannot help that in any way
You can try
You really can
But coffee can only do so much

A Piece Of Granite

A Piece Of Granite
by Lord R.e. Taylor

So many people
War heroes and workmen
Mothers and fathers
Priests and kings
Paupers and lunatics
They are no longer judged
Their stories are rarely told
Some are not even remembered
But, all buried side by side
No one better than the others
Marked with just a piece of granite
The last sign of a lost life

Her Babies

Her Babies
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It always made her happy
A tribute by a young artist
One painting of her babies
Flowers she grew from seed
Her children, her life

Just Be You

Just Be You
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You may be alone
Do not hide away
Your life will be good
Just be who you are

Crocus

Crocus
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You never listen to that groundhog
The almanac is usually wrong
And the weatherman doesn’t know
The snow will come when it wants
Covering everything again and again
But do not care what it does
You fight your way through
Poking your head into the warming air
The first color of the coming spring
You make everyone smile and remember
Spring is here and life has returned
All thanks to you

Get Away

Get Away
by Lord R.e. Taylor

So many things happen
Most may be good
But some cannot be
They are the ones which build up
Sometimes beyond reason
You should stand up to them
That is what you have been taught
For most of us though we need something else
We just need some time to get away
Leave all the bad things behind
Hopefully, if we get far enough away
Then we can live the happy lives we deserve

Goodbye Mom

Goodbye Mom
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I was fifteen when you died
I never got the chance to say goodbye
One more day
Even one more minute
Would not have been enough

She Will Learn Love

She Will Learn Love
by Lord R.e. Taylor

She was the last of a dozen babies
Each one as cute as the others
But she was never chosen to have a family
So she ended up alone on a country road
Without food or water she learned about pain
Happily she was saved from her punishment
Locked in a cage she watches people walk by
Tears run down her eyes as he does her best to be cute
Hoping that someone will choose her
And she will find the love her life had been missing

Judge Mommy

Judge Mommy
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Grandma, I have been framed
There were no witnesses
They never presented evidence
She just saw me near that cupcake
I was arrested, charged, and convicted
Boy, Mommy can be a tough judge

384,400 Kilometers

384,400 Kilometers
by Lord R.e. Taylor

384,400 kilometers
Such a vast distance
It is so hard to look back
Knowing they cannot see or hear me
I am all alone on an empty world
How could I know how it would turn out
Now I am living with no hope
I left that behind me
My children will never know what happened
Why their father cannot come home
But all he can do is look back
And he will cry when he thinks of them
All alone 384,400 kilometers away

Too Many Clocks

Too Many Clocks
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I don’t want a watch
I should not see a clock
Or be reminded what the time is
I just want to go to the beach
Maybe listen to the waves
Nature’s first and most accurate clock
But it never tells you hours or minutes
It just tells you what you already forgot
You are living in the moment
Without having to worry about the next on
Or the one which just passed
Maybe that is what nature had planned for us
We may never care to know
We have too many clocks around to change

A Story

A Story
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It does matter how many words it has
How many paragraphs or pages
Every story is a world by itself
It could be a magical place

Or it could tell of a moment in history
The story itself may not matter
It is always the feelings it gives the reader
Maybe it will help the reader to think

Either way a story is a miracle
It combines the talent of the writer
With the minds of the readers
Creating something unique between the two

Riding The Rails by Lord R.e. Taylor Let’s step back in time Take a ride through a wonderland Hear the clicks of the wheels Feel the rocking...
