Talking To Her Love

Talking To Her Love
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Her loss was almost too much
Losing her husband after a few days
Since then, she has been in mourning
Dreaming of her one true love
Still, even after all this time
She carries her priceless wedding ring
Holding it as close as she can
Silently sharing her heart with her true love
And knowing that he is doing the same for her

Doorway To Paradise

Doorway To Paradise
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The gods created so much
Places of total darkness
Some do not allow humans to wander
Others show hidden realities
Things some may wish to see
But there are some places way way back
Where the gods created passages
Magical doorways leading to other places
Places of sunshine and brightness
Where the human soul may live in peace
The perfect gift from the gods who love us

I

I
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I am just nine years old
I should be playing and learning in school
I am not ready to be a wife or mother
So, can you please allow me to grow up
I want to become the woman I know I can be
If you would just give me the chance

You Are My Smile

You Are My Smile
By Lord R.e. Taylor

How did I know what you would do
How you would change me
Taking a tired old man who lived for work
Never smiling and never laughing
Refusing to enjoy anything life offered
As far as I knew, that was all I was
Just a sad, tired old man
But you brought light to my eyes
Showed me what I was missing
And taught me to enjoy what was offered
Because you are the you who loves life
I have fallen deeply in love with you
I know that you will see that in my smile
It is all yours for the rest of forever

The Alarm

The Alarm
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I am a god in my own mind
Traveling the universe nightly
Meeting famous and infamous people of history
Then I awaken when the alarm rings
I am lying in my bed with only my dreams
And my time in the universe to remember

The Final Bomb

The Final Bomb
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It all began on a Sunday morning
Suddenly, life on Earth began to die
Famine, disease, and many other reasons
When it all ended only one man existed
One man to tell the entire story
He walked onto a nearby abandoned road
The final bomb went off
Watching the explosion, he yelled
“The rotten bastards finally did it.”
Then he fired a single shot into his head
And humankind no longer existed on the planet

Me From Long Ago

Me From Long Ago
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The time has finally arrived
There are fewer years ahead
Then there are years behind
Time has done so much
Made it hard to do some things
Takes some names and dates away
It can make me doubt what is real
Accepting the fantasies of my mind
I do not like what I have become
I do not like what adulting has done
Wish all I want it will not change
The me of ages ago is gone
And he will never, ever return

We Become Us

We Become Us
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The day may not have been perfect
Maybe it was because we were apart
But once the night comes
When the candles come out
That is when we become us
And the love between us grows

My Own Coffin

My Own Coffin
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I am right where I want to be
No windows and no doors
Black surrounds me on every side
Just me with my final thoughts
Before you wonder, I have been planning
Dreaming about this for a long time
No one ever gave a damn about me
And I never cared for anyone else
So, don’t you dare cry for me
Just make this room my coffin
Then just leave me to my rest
Not that you would ever visit anyway

A Little Magic

A Little Magic
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Little kids are so perfect
Innocent and curious
They look at everything with wonder
Even if they do not know what they see
They just take it all in
And every piece of it becomes their lives
Then the adults come into their lives
Teaching them to not accept everything
Suddenly, that sweet, innocent child
Well, suddenly their innocence is gone
Their world loses its magic
And they become...well...us
That is a change that we should never allow
We need to find a way to get our children back
Maybe allow them to keep just a little innocence
And let them see the magic they so loved
Then, maybe, the next generation will be happy
And their lives may be a little bit better

The Paradise He Created

The Paradise He Created
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I felt His hand on my shoulder
He was giving me a chance I never wanted
Giving me all of His powers
He left me alone to think
Honestly, it did not take me long to decide
I saw what His children had created
I saw what His children ha destroyed
And I knew what I had to do
I never said a word as I waved my hand
In that instant, all human life disappeared
Everything humans had created was turned to dust
And every single animal was allowed to thrive
Yes, I was God for just one day
But I made the Earth what it was meant to be
The paradise He created

Not Quite Such A Good Day

Not Quite Such A Good Day
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Today is going to be good
Not too hot or cold
No rain or snow
Could it be any better
I know I have stuff to do
A hell of a lot of stuff to do
But that hammock looks awfully good
Yeah, that and a big glass of beer
That could only make a good day better
I guess all that work can wait
Tomorrow ain't going to be so good
So, I will just do everything then
That is, unless the old lady catches me
Then today will be the perfect day to get everything done
At least that is what she says
And she is always right... ain't she

I Hate Mice

 I Hate Mice

by Lord R.e. Taylor

I know I am brave

As big as I am

Nothing can hurt me

I heard it

I never saw it

I knew it was there

I could not get away

I really hate mice

A Perfect Day

A Perfect Day
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It is the perfect time of day
No other person in sight
Calm breezes and silent trees
Just me and my best friend
Sharing our time together
Just as the Universe has deemed for us
We will walk together every day
And that makes every day a perfect day

Waiting For You

Waiting For You
by Lord R.e. Taylor

That clock has to be wrong
It says you have only been gone for a few minutes
But you have been gone for days or maybe weeks
Maybe you are never coming back
Then comes a familiar noise from the driveway
You did make it home, and we are happy

His Only Love

His Only Love
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Lying in the dark, waiting
His mind thinks of you
The times you both spoke
When you walked in the rain
Remembering your first kiss
And the first time he said he loved you
But something bad happened
You had a life that you wanted
And he had a life that he wanted
Sadly, your lives were not together
Something had happened
Moving between you and driving you apart
Just you know that he does still love you
And he still wishes that life had kept you together
Please know that when the darkness comes
He lies silently and thinks of you
The only woman he had ever loved
And the only woman he will ever love
