Today is going to be good

Not too hot or cold

No rain or snow

Could it be any better

I know I have stuff to do

A hell of a lot of stuff to do

But that hammock looks awfully good

Yeah, that and a big glass of beer

That could only make a good day better

I guess all that work can wait

Tomorrow ain't going to be so good

So, I will just do everything then

That is, unless the old lady catches me

Then today will be the perfect day to get everything done

At least that is what she says

And she is always right... ain't she

Calm breezes and silent trees

Just me and my best friend

Sharing our time together

Just as the Universe has deemed for us

We will walk together every day

And that makes every day a perfect day

That clock has to be wrong

It says you have only been gone for a few minutes

But you have been gone for days or maybe weeks

Maybe you are never coming back

Then comes a familiar noise from the driveway

You did make it home, and we are happy

His Only Love

Lying in the dark, waiting

His mind thinks of you

The times you both spoke

When you walked in the rain

Remembering your first kiss

And the first time he said he loved you

But something bad happened

You had a life that you wanted

And he had a life that he wanted

Sadly, your lives were not together

Something had happened

Moving between you and driving you apart

Just you know that he does still love you

And he still wishes that life had kept you together

Please know that when the darkness comes

He lies silently and thinks of you

The only woman he had ever loved

And the only woman he will ever love
