Their World Is Gone

Their World Is Gone

Their world was so green
Grasses, trees and animals
Flourished in the warm Sun
Fish came from abundant streams
And lakes filled to their limits
Then the gods became angry
Man had over-used the land
Dammed the streams
And polluted the lakes
The Sun shone hotter than ever
The rains left for distant lands
And even the last blade of grass died
Now the land is just a desert
Where only a few fight to survive
But, for them, death would be a blessing

As their world dies around them
