We Are Writers

We Are Writers

By Lord R.e. Taylor

We are not just writers

We are so much more

So much more powerful

We can give birth to new planets

And destroy entire galaxies

We can create a new human

Or kill a fire breathing creature

Wars are fought at our command

And breezes drift across our fields

Carrying scents from newly bloomed flowers

All created by our hearts and our minds

Yes, we may be writers

But we ARE so much more

You Are A God

You Are A God

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Do you know who you are

Any idea where you came from

You are the descendent of a long line

Cats have been hunters since forever

Hunting in forests history never knew

You became gods when man understood

Your kind were always noble creatures

In all of time you have never changed

You are still nobility and you know it

The thing is modern man doesn’t realize it

Someday we will learn about you

You can tell us to kiss your a@@

That is what a god would do

And you are still a god

Thrills Down Below

Thrills Down Below

By R.e. Taylor

It is Human nature

Doing things not normal

Looking for adventure

Even taking chances

Some people live for that

Looking for a new experience

So they look around the world

Seeking a new thrill

However very few look down

And that could be the place to look

It could be hiding the best stuff

All just waiting to be found

A Time Of War

A Time Of War

By Lord R.e. Taylor

The time of war is here

Not nation fighting nation

Not even brother fighting brother

The entire planet

Every man, woman and child

Must fight and have to die

How did we let our world get to that

A point where no one is safe

Where were the people to say no

Everyone has to lay down their arms

Calmer heads have to lead

Otherwise, we will not survive

And God would have made a mistake

We would have to be made extinct

Someone else would have to take over

Maybe the cockroaches would be a good choice

They could not do any worse than we did

Could they?

A Cat’s Prayer

A Cat’s Prayer

By Lord R.e. Taylor

He was awakened by many men

Taking out the woman he loved

Strapped to a bed on wheels

She never said goodbye

She looked at him and weakly smiled

Now he looks into Heaven

And prays for her to return

Being Him

Being Him

By Lord R.e. Taylor

He never knew who he was

Not really

Where he was supposed to be

Or what they expected from him

He just knew he was not what they wanted

Never thinking what they believed

Not behaving the way he should

He was what he wanted to be

No more and no less

And it never bothered him

That he never fit in

He turned out simply fine

Living as the him he wanted to be

An Eternal Love

An Eternal Love

By R.e. Taylor

On the day they met

It was so special

Two planets colliding

In an infinite heaven

Their love grew

Beyond what they expected

On their second special day

The priest asked them a question

Would only death part them

They both agreed as they should

But death never stood a chance

They are together for eternity

Just the way they wanted to be

A Rainbow’s True Treasure

A Rainbow’s True Treasure

By Lord R.e. Taylor

I always loved rainbows

The hope of finding a pot of gold

So many times, I traveled around

Looking for the rainbow’s end

I never found the rainbow’s end

Nor did I find a pot of gold

I did find the enjoyment of life

And the smiles so many people lack

So, I found my treasure in a rainbow

A Beautiful Midnight

A Beautiful Midnight

By Lord R.e. Taylor

It was a beautiful midnight

Almost perfect in every way

A nice gentle, drifting breeze

A million, million stars above

And a gift from the heavens above

A once in-a-lifetime eclipse

Creating a golden ring high up

Looking like the symbol of love

It hung there for hours

Staring down on me

As I sat alone in the long grass

Yes, it was almost perfect in every way

Except that you were not beside me

I could not present that ring to you

I could not tell you how much I loved you

I could not make you mine

Was It Worth It

Was It Worth It

By Lord R.e. Taylor

You did not see me

But I was close to you

I heard the gunshots

I saw my mom and dad fall

And I saw their eyes when they died

Why would you take them away

Leaving me alone to face life

I am probably younger than your children

That never mattered to you did it

I know you did not need them for food

And you did not have to use the for clothes

You simply murdered them for fun

Was it worth it to ruin a family

Really, I need to know, was it worth it

Let Me Sing

Let Me Sing

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Can you do me a favor

If you ever pass me

You may hear a song

It doesn’t matter which one

Don’t stop and listen

Don’t clap

And please don’t laugh

I sound like choking cat

I know that for a fact

But I just love to sing

So, no matter how bad I am

I won’t ever stop

The songs will just keep coming

And the cat will always be choking

Just please don’t listen

And for sure don’t laugh

If you do I may sing “Mickey”

Just so you will too

Damaged Heart

Damaged Heart

By Lord R.e. Taylor

The heart is so strong

However, it can be damaged

Tarnished and broken

All it takes is a single word

Said at the wrong time

Or with the wrong meaning

Can cause irreparable damage

Even with all that said

I still love you and I always will

Get Away

Get Away

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Sometimes it can be fun

Waking up and taking off

Just drive and drive

It doesn't matter where you go

North, South, East or West

The road will always show you the way

So, trust your heart

Just take a chance and go

It will always be worth it

Her Unread Book

Her Unread Book

By Lord R.e. Taylor

She is an enigma

A book which no one has read

So many pages

So many stories

Each one longer

More involved than the last

Drawing a reader in

She shares every secret

Ever dream and dark desire

Maybe someday she will share

Allow just one person to read it

On that far-off day

The day she opens herself

She may find the love she wants

Please Help Us

Please Help Us

By Lord R.e. Taylor

On the day you were born

The world received a savior

A new messiah for a new reality

You will use your words

You will show by your actions

Teaching us a new humanity

There will be no more wars

Hatred will be a thing of the past

And love will be the normal

We need you now more than ever

So, grow up the way you should

Try not to be like everyone else

Learn what you can

And show us the right way

You are destined to save us

Please help humankind survive

Losing Stress

Losing Stress

By Lord R.e. Taylor

You have enough stress

Stress from today

Stress left from yesterday

And stress about tomorrow

It just keeps coming

Nothing can stop it

All you can do is deal

Once in a while just say screw it

You know a trip or bath won’t cut it

Just set everything where it is

Have a shot or two

Hell, drink the whole bottle

The stress will still be there

You can’t get rid of it

But you won’t remember it

Isn’t that good enough

At least until you sober up

The Warrior Tree

The Warrior Tree

By Lord R.e. Taylor

She stood for so long

Fighting for humanity

Battling her own family

She drew first blood

She drew the most blood

Piling bodies on the field

One by one the Titans fell

She stood until the fight was over

Alone she looked over the waste

She even cried for those she killed

But she knew that her battle was also over

Exhausted she gave away her life

Answering her final prayer

She was turned into a mighty tree

One which would stand forever

Ready to fight again if she was needed

Waving Flags

Waving Flags

By Lord R.e. Taylor

More that 200 countries on Earth

Each with its own flag

Flying high above the citizens

Waving under the skies above

Not blown by nature’s winds

They are moved by a magical force

The last breath of millions of soldiers

Lives given to defend their beliefs

If you listen, you may hear their voices

Praying for all of us still alive

Beauty For The World

Beauty For The World

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Someone wanted beauty

They worked for years

Maybe it took a lifetime

Planting one seed at a time

In time it grew and grew

Blooming beyond their dreams

Now, others admire their work

And it symbolizes the true meaning of art

A beauty made not for the artist

Rather a beauty made for the world
