A
Beautiful Midnight
By Lord R.e.
Taylor
It was a beautiful
midnight
Almost perfect
in every way
A nice
gentle, drifting breeze
A million,
million stars above
And a gift
from the heavens above
A once in-a-lifetime
eclipse
Creating a
golden ring high up
Looking like
the symbol of love
It hung
there for hours
Staring down
on me
As I sat alone
in the long grass
Yes, it
was almost perfect in every way
Except that
you were not beside me
I could
not present that ring to you
I could
not tell you how much I loved you
I could
not make you mine
