The Real, Hidden You

The Real, Hidden You
By Lord R.e. Taylor

You never know who you are
Always too awkward
Always too shy around everyone
Maybe it is how you were raised
You never see what people see in you
Someday, not too far away
You may meet your own Prince Charming
And the world will get her dearest gift
The you who everyone has been waiting for

Save Us Again

Save Us Again
By Lord R.e. Taylor

God sent you to us
You were chosen to save the Earth
Now you just sit and wait
Maybe people no longer see you
Maybe they just don’t know they do
Hopefully you will always be there
Waiting until the world needs you
Well, we need you now
Again, the world is ending
So, please don’t wait too long
And you are our only hope

Please Do Not Give Up

Please Do Not Give Up
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Please do not give up on us yet
We know what we are doing
Killing ourselves and killing others
Please give us another chance

Mother Nature’s Sculpture

Mother Nature’s Sculpture
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Mother Nature lowered her finger
Touching the world
Making sculptures
Making sure that they are safe
Until Spring too soon returns
And, sadly, it reclaims the world again

His Mountain Paradise

His Mountain Paradise
By Lord R.e. Taylor

He always heard stories
Mostly fairy tales
About a boy and his sheep
Far up in the mountains
Just him and his thought
With his friends in his paradise

Reaching Out

Reaching Out
By Lord R.e. Taylor

How long has it been
I never forgot you
The times we walked together
When the sunset brightened your eyes
And everything made you smile
Our fingers wrapped together
Through that we became an us
Now, I can no longer hold your hand
Still, whenever I walk, wherever I walk
I reach out for your hand but, it is never there
And I know, in my heart, that it never will be

His Heaven

His Heaven
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Ever since childhood
He walked in the summer sun
Hours or days at a time
Rain nor shine nor even night
Nothing ever stopped him
He knew that fantasies were real
Lands of brilliant colours
Filled with fairies and imps
He walked on the day God took him
Maybe, he must have finally found it
The land he knew was there
His version of Heaven

So The Rain Fell

So The Rain Fell
By Lord R.e. Taylor

So many years without rain
Daddy prayed every day
Hoping that God would send a miracle
First the crops died in the field
The animals went right after that
Mama went last summer
But she loved us and gave us a gift
A single drop of water to give us hope
The day before God let the rain fall
I am sure that Mama had something to do with it
For some reason God always listened to her
And she always loved us
So, the rain fell, and everything became right

Don’t Fear The Night

Don’t Fear The Night
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Do not fear the night
It cannot hurt you
But I do live in the darkness
You could never imagine a worse monster

Rain falls
Playing music
On umbrellas
On the ground
Nature’s rhythmic beat

I Will Be There

I Will Be There
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I can feel your fears building inside of you
The sound of your cries is all I can hear
I need you to know that I am still here
Heaven knows how much you mean to me
So, no matter how long we are apart
My love will always be there to protect you

Love’s Lost Poetry

Love’s Lost Poetry
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Every poet has secrets
Loving words written
But will never be seen
Written as a symbol of love
For a special person in their life
They may be long gone
Taken away by time unforgiving
They may be next to them
Sharing their lives and their love
The words are ones not to be shared
Poetry locked away in antique chests
Only known to a few old pieces of paper

Eternity Never Comes

Eternity Never Comes
By Lord R.e. Taylor

She left so long ago
A promise was made
She would return one day
Never saying when
Just sometime in eternity
The nights come and go
With cool air and fog
But she never arrives
Eternity never comes

Changing A Colour

Changing A Colour
By Lord R.e. Taylor

A colour is quickly dying
The world does not fear it
Many simply will hate it
Even more just laugh at it
It was the one chosen by many
It has hurt so many over time
Many more to come soon
The colour must be muted
Morphed into an entirely different hue
Only then the world will be better
The pain we all feel will stop
And hopefully we will survive

Dedicated to the winners

Treasures On The Beach

Treasures On The Beach
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Two steps may not be enough
One step may be too many
Shiny treasures across the beach
A bit of luck
And treasure will be yours
