Jesus

Jesus
by Lord R.e. Taylor

He was born of a poor family
In a Jewish town in a Jewish land
He grew up to preach the Gospel
Travelling the land helping people
Making miracles when He needed to
He became a very famous man
Called the King of the Jews
In the end He was murdered by a foreign land
After giving the world His body and blood
Yet, His teachings will never be forgotten
The memory of Him dying on the cross
His answering of so many prayers
Proves that He never truly died
And that His love still guides us all

Untitled

Untitled
by Lord R.e. Taylor

So long ago
You were new and shiny
Boys borrowed you from Dad
A first date and a first kiss
And maybe more

Venus

Venus
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I have never seen a woman like you
Created by the gods from flawless marble
Beauty placed upon beauty
Men were unworthy of you
They were only allowed to dream
Not even permitted to speak your name
But you defied the will of the gods
You became a goddess on your own
You showed the world how to love
You showed the world the true meaning of beauty
At last your name could be spoken…
Venus, Goddess of Love

December In Queensland

December In Queensland
by Lord R.e. Taylor

December comes
Always the same
Green trees
Scorching breezes
And the sounds of birds
Waves crash on white sand beaches
While sexy girls tan in the sun
Months of drought
A few hours of rain
And not a snowflake in sight
‘Such is life’ as Ned Kelly said
During December in Queensland

End Of The World?

End Of The World?
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The world has opened up
Cracks and fire on every land
Burning everything man ever made
No one could survive
Their souls fall to the gates of hell
Their screams mix with the smoke
But, they should never be mourned
They brought it all on themselves
Lies, murder, and savagery
Left unchecked to decimate everything
This is just God’s way to purify the world
Maybe He will bring back the Garden Of Eden
And try one more time to get it right

Those Special Days

Those Special Days
by Lord R.e. Taylor

We waited for those special days
Decorating at a fever pitch
Everything had to be just right
Yeah, it may only last a few days
But, Santa and the kids will be happy
And that is all that matters...isn’t it?

Hey Old Man

Hey Old Man
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Hey old man
May I have a few minutes of your time
So much has happened in your life
Can you tell me your stories
I will promise you that I will listen

A Cold Respite

A Cold Respite
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Hotter than the sun
Too hot for humans or animals
It happens too often
Some say it’s global warming
Others say it’s a cycle
No one is really sure
But in the end it doesn’t matter
A cold beer and some A/C
And winter is here again

I Apologise

I Apologise
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I apologise for the human species
You gave us so much when we were young
Beautiful trees, flowers, and clean waters
Sadly we never thought about it
We destroyed everything you created
You should have never had to watch us
As I said I apologise to you
We never deserved you or your blessings

Not Cloudy Or Sunny

Not Cloudy Or Sunny
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It’s just one of those days
Not really cloudy but not sunny
But I will not let it bother me
My friend is here with me
Together we enjoy our lives
Even if that means getting really close
Looking through the window
And seeing what the universe gave us
On a day which is not cloudy or sunny

The Sound Of Bells

The Sound Of Bells
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Every hour
Every day of the week
I would patiently wait
For a hundred special sounds
Echoing through the trees
And around every building
But in the last few years
Somebody changed the world
All of the church bells have been silenced
The hours pass without notice
Since then, life has not been the same
And it probably will never be again

My Fear In Choosing

My Fear In Choosing
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Standing on the edge
A shaky precipice below me
Vast unexplored areas before me
Must I choose if I am safe
Is the ledge too small for me
Are the open lands too big for me
I may never know
Or maybe I already do
I may be just too afraid to admit it

The Church Of The Diamond

The Church Of The Diamond
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Every chance I had I went to church
Along with several thousand others
We all watched nine ministers
All placed throughout the field
Leading us in prayer asking for one more hit
And maybe, if God was willing, another run
But it didn’t really matter if good or evil won
All that mattered was the ministers
They would be our God-blessed heroes
And they would be there for many services to come

Gateway Of Prayers

Gateway Of Prayers
by Lord R.e. Taylor

It is a miracle
A time for everyone
A time important to all
Too bad no one knows
The heavens open up
Creating a gateway to God
Allowing each and every wish and prayer
Sent from every believer to be heard
And God will decide which are worthy
Which ones will never be heard
And they will be lost forever

1 Of Only 2 Percent

1 Of Only 2 Percent
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You are truly a treasure
One of only two percent
You are a member of an endangered species
Created by God to be beautiful
To be the woman men dream about
But The Devil had to add his touches to you
Giving you a most dangerous temper
And eyes of icy cold blue
Still your heart shines through
Filled with the love you deserve

Travel To Woop Woop

Travel To Woop Woop
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I have heard of a place
Far off the beaten track
It’s a place everyone talks about
But no one ever goes there
It ain’t on any maps
No one can give you directions
That may be half the fun of going
Pack for snow, rain, heat or flooding
You will never know until you get there
So, get on your way to Woop-Woop
Hopefully, it will still be there for you

Waiting

Waiting
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Little One, how long have you been waiting
Twenty minutes, an hour or even longer
Your heart may be breaking right now
Maybe he was the ‘true one’ for you
But, now you know most probably not
Just remember it was his loss, not yours

Nineteen Again

Nineteen Again

Oh, to be nineteen again
Maybe start drinking illegally
Fall in love with the perfect woman
We could share a joint or two
And get married before we sober up

On A Winter’s Night

On A Winter’s Night

Such a beautiful time
Walking alone after a snowfall
Quiet and peaceful
Like Heaven on Earth
Angels disguised as snowflakes
Floating down to bless us

The 4th Horseman

The 4th Horseman
by Lord R.e. Taylor

I hope to hear The Fourth Horsemen coming
Riding his fierce dark black stallion
Just so I would know my last day
Not so I could cry or anything like that
I just want to watch him rise from Hades
And hear his voice when he calls my name
After that, who knows and who cares

I Would Hide

I Would Hide
by Lord R.e. Taylor

If we ever said even a single angry word
I would run away
Hide in a different world
In my own place
And never be seen again
That way I could never hurt you
I would never have to see you cry
But know that I would love you
I promise that would never change

My Longest Mistake

My Longest Mistake
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Tears are flowing again
Burning my eyes
Leaving scars along my face
How could I have ever let you go
My life and my dreams
Just gone in a bad moment
I should have said I was sorry
But it all happened too fast
Now, we never talk
Not even to say hello
It should never had gotten this bad
But it is far too late
So I cry every night as I reach for you
I only find empty air where you should be
My heart breaks and my tears flow
And I know that is what a mistake should feel like

October 7 2023

October 7 2023
by Lord R.e. Taylor

All it took was just one day
A sneak attack by cowards
Killed thousands of innocents
Men, women, children and babies
Shot, raped, burned, and beheaded
The few who are left
The children left can not find love
Their parents were placed in mass graves
Their home destroyed
Their futures taken away from them
Now, the cowards cry for help
The innocents have been fighting back
Defending those who are left
Following God's words of ‘an eye for an eye’
They should continue fighting
Until every last coward rots in Hell

Empty Chairs

Empty Chairs
by Lord R.e. Taylor

For years he and his wife shared the sunset
Sitting in those chairs every night
Now, they are both with the angels
Do the chairs know that they are no longer coming
They look so sad as they just sit and wait
Hoping that someone will stop by for just a moment

Beauty Is Doomed

Beauty Is Doomed
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Beauty comes in so many ways
But it was never created to last
It was created to be destroyed
Either by passing time or age
Or through an act of violence
After all, it does not matter
And there is nothing we can do about it
In the long run, all beauty is doomed

Loneliness

Loneliness
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Most I know hate loneliness
They need people to survive
I am not that kind of person
It does not take much to please me
Maybe just an hour of loneliness
Just for the chance for some silence

Destroying The Universe

Destroying The Universe
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Humans don't think
Most likely they don't care
They created a world of destruction
Destroying stars, planets, the entire universe
Hiding beauty created through billions of years
But is it worth a child not having a star to wish upon
Or couples not having a moon to fall in love under
All just to sell a few more hamburgers

Blessed by the gods
They share All Hallows Eve

Halloween Memory

Halloween Memory
by Lord R.e. Taylor

You may not know
Your days are numbered
Soon the children will come
Looking for beauty
If you are chosen by them
Yes, you may get a new home
But, it will not last
It never does for your kind
You will be butchered
Made ugly for a single night
No, you have no choice
So there is only a couple things to say to you
May your children have a happy Halloween
And may you be their favourite memory

His American Dream

His American Dream
by Lord R.e. Taylor

He always tried to be good
The kind of man he knew he should be
He worked hard all of his life
Married the only woman he ever loved
And raised his kids the way he should
That all ended one spring evening
His world collapsed in around him
He lost everything that meant him anything
Now he sleeps under a leaky bridge
Beaten and robbed every night
Yet, he has never given up
He still believes in the American dream
Even if it doesn’t believe in him

Memories No More

Memories No More
by Lord R.e. Taylor

So many memories
Places we have been
People we have known
You could always go back
And they would be there
A promise which could not be kept
Time passed without us knowing
Slowly, everything we remembered
They were all taken away
Replaced by empty spaces
Even our minds begin to fade
Until just a few neurons are left
If and when they are gone
Our memories will go with them
And our history...just like us
Will cease to exist

Farewell To Sunset

Farewell To Sunset
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The two of them sat in those chairs watching the sunset
But time can be as cruel as any monster
She died a slow death in her eighty-third year
His heart ached with unbearable loneliness
He knew that his only love was gone like the light of the sun
And he knew that she would never be with him again
