Writer’s Block
by Lord R.e. Taylor
So many ideas rushing around
Swirling in my mind
They block everything else out
Even my thinking about sleeping
So, the night goes on, ending with morning
Still, my mind is working overtime
Trying to make sense of the senseless
Finally, I sit down with my keyboard
I start my next novel
The masterpiece I have always wanted
But only one word comes out
Not even that great of a word
The word “A” appears on the screen
Then my mind goes blank
Not a single idea in all that empty space
A tear forms, and a decision has been made
So I share my shortest poem ever
I hope you all like it, because that is all I have
At least for the next few days, when I try again
Maybe then I will find a second word
Who knows
