The Way There

The Way There

A million people
Walk on asphalt and cement paths
Through valleys of glass and steel
They find corners to make a choice
And they only take them to other corners
And more choices
It is an endless circle
Some spend their whole lives
Walking and searching for a magical land
With fields of grass and flowers
Trees making shade in the Summer sun
And a lake surrounded by laughing children
To most it is just a story
A hopeful tale shared by parents
But, for those who search long enough
Persevere through time and space
The oasis in the concrete desert is real
A place of dreams and pleasure

And they will never forget the way there
