Skin like a Greek statue

Eyes like unflawed gemstones

And a voice from any stage in the world

But that was a lifetime ago

Life happened and memories faded

So, I cannot be if you were ever real

Or if you were just a lonely night's dream

Either way, you made my life better

And I thank you for that

Controlling me

Making my life fit your plans

Locking me in a cage

For my own good

That's what you thought

But I am not that type

Bars do not fit me

Freedom to do what I want

To think what I believe

And say what I feel

That is who I am

So just back away

Go a safe distance

This cage is coming down

Releasing an entirely new me

One without controls

And you should be afraid

Because you created me

How could I not have fallen in love

That was so many years ago

Now, I could not live without you

You are always by my side

You will always be my friend

And it is everything

History with no beginning

A future with no end

But everything has its own version

For a star eternity can be forever

For a fly eternity is a few days

No one knows for sure

And no one should know

It could be just a lifetime

It could be forever

Eternity is just a faith people accept

Maybe that is all it should be

Don't tell me things are better

That the colours of the world shine

All of the brightness is gone

Replaced with blacks and greys

Shadows everywhere you look

And demon crawling the streets

Man has made it like that

They have turned their backs on hope

If things keep going that way

Any and all hope will die away

It will never come back

And the world will be lost

I spent the day just walking

Not sure how long

But that really did not matter

All I knew was that I was back home

Finally, I found where I was meant to be

Sitting in that picnic table

You know the one I mean

Down by the river we knew so well

Of course, my thoughts were of you

I tried calling you, but you were not around

There were so many things left to say

So much I should have learned from you

But God needed you more than I did

So, he took you away way too soon

I miss you Mom and I will always have a hope

Maybe, God would give me a chance

Just long enough to give you another hug

And for sure tell you I miss you
