She Is The Music

She Is The Music
By Lord R.e. Taylor

She is such a special girl
She sits alone, but she is never alone
Her music stays with her always
Coming from her father’s old Walkman
Through a pair of her favorite headphones
The music becomes a part of her
Each note travels to her fingers
Coming out as a new poem or a new story
Or maybe a princess is a witch’s palace
Something only she can fully understand
But, that is who this girl truly is
She is the music and the music is her

The Girl Death Loved

The Girl Death Loved
By Lord R.e. Taylor

She was the loneliest woman alive
But Death craved her soul
He wanted her for her beauty
But the rules said that she was free
So, the moment she died
No one mourned for her
But Death loved her so much
True, he could never have her
But he could never let her go
He carved her image onto a wall
A special place where she always sat
Death’s tribute to the girl he loved

Unbridled Creativity

Unbridled Creativity
By Lord R.e. Taylor

So many bright, intense colors
Almost creating a sensory overload
Even with that it is thoroughly beautiful
A true tribute to the owner
An unbridled creativity
So rare in a concrete and glass world

Yelling In The Fog

Yelling In The Fog
By Lord R.e. Taylor

The forest gives you time and space you never had
The ability to climb on to an ancient rock
Yell as loud as you can into the morning fog
Then wait for someone to answer back to you
Either God or a lost spirit, someone will answer
And you will know that you do truly exist

A Brand-New Woman

A Brand-New Woman
By Lord R.e. Taylor

You were always a colorful girl
Tie dyed shorts and flowered tops
Always finding new ways to not fit in
You made one final trip to the chemist
Fifty dollars and ten boxes of hair dye
And, after the longest day ever
Then a new you was created
More colorful and more beautiful
A brand-new woman for a brand-new world

Foggy Night

Foggy Night
By Lord R.e. Taylor

As the evening air cools
The fog rolls into the cities
Covering them in thick gray shrouds
Hiding all of those who have secrets
Protecting those who need protecting
But then the light of day comes in
Warming the air and revealing all
Secrets are brought to light
The unprotected have to fear
And the world becomes a little less safe
At least until comes another foggy night

I Dream Of You

I Dream Of You
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Every night I wished about the same thing
I did not think it would ever come true
It all started when I was a child
Maybe eleven or twelve years old
I saw your picture in a magazine
And at that moment I fell in love
You only lived a year but my dreams are forever
Someday I am sure my dreams will come true
I will finally have my 1956 Thunderbird
And my life will be complete
