Few Restful Places

Few Restful Places
By Lord R.e. Taylor

There are far too few peaceful places
And there are less and less everyday
As we move out of the cities
We take the noises and mess with us
Ruining what the land has to offer
The trees and fields are still there
Hard to find and beautiful to enjoy
Just leave the noise and mess behind
Relax and enjoy what Mother Nature provides
Just remember one thing as you look around
Take only memories and leave only footprints

The Virus

The Virus
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Eight billion people
Covering the entire planet
Scampering around
Hugging, kissing, shaking hands
Each living a different life
But each interconnected
One day all that changed
A bug came to the lands
Killing as it went along
Yet, one man lived
He never saw another person
So, he was safe
Safe but alone
Not a way to live

Welcome To The Night

Welcome To The Night
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Welcome the night
It has so much
Most of it hidden in the day
Noises coming from nowhere
Animals hunting for you
And shadows around every corner
It is a time when Hell comes alive
However, never fear the dark
It is a strange, unknown world
There for you to explore
It will welcome you
All you have to do is step in
And start living the way you never should

The Brumby Stallion

The Brumby Stallion
By R.e. Taylor

You were born on an Outback ranch
Son of a brumby stallion
You spent your life fenced in
Never allowed to roam free
Held prisoner because of who you are
They tried and tried to break you
But you could never be ridden
Your spirit was just too strong
Finally, they saw your soul
And all of the strength it holds
Now you wander free
Running like the ocean breezes
You don’t worry about tomorrow
You just live for the moment
Just the way you should

The Promise Of The Universe

The Promise Of The Universe
By R.e. Taylor

The universe is so unique
Full of creation
Full of destruction
Stars are born and die
Usually with a violent reaction
So many planets and nebula
Floating in an endless vacuum
But still it has time to send us radiation
Just enough to light up the sky
Ribbons of the brightest colours
Giving people a chance to see beauty
Filled with admiration and awe
The Northern Lights are the universe's gift
Maybe to a people who have forgotten
Everything is going to be alright
The heavens can promise that to us
And it keeps its promises

Your Creator

Your Creator
By R.e. Taylor

I don’t know who created you
Or why you were created
But, I know the world needs you
Your creator was a genius
With both brains and imagination
They brought you to live
A single demon from Hell
A nightmare brought to Earth
You can scare or make someone think
I only hope your creator is still around
Maybe give you some brothers or sisters
If they did, it would be a hell of show

The Lady In White

The Lady In White
By R.e. Taylor

There are so many stories
Telling everyone about you
I have heard about the lady in white
I have even seen you a couple of times
You have been standing there so long
Never looking at the people going by
You just look ahead and seem to be crying
What happened to make you like that
Were you harmed or did you lose someone
No one really knows
But when I see you, I will pray for you
Hoping that someday you with be blessed
So, you can leave that lonesome road behind
And your soul can finally rest

Skies Of Fire

Skies Of Fire
By R.e. Taylor

It has happened in the past
Several times in history
The peaceful blue skies of Earth
Chased away by glowing fire
Most life suffers a painful death
Reborn in its most primitive form
Mountains crumble into dirt
Replaced by new ones
Raised up from the bowels of Hell
And the seas freeze under miles of ice
There is nothing we can do
Just surrender to our fate
Hoping that those who come after us
Do a better job than we ever did
They could never do worse than we did

Coronavirus

Coronavirus
By R.e. Taylor

Something small is coming
One by one
People are getting infected
Wanting to live inside of you
It doesn’t mean to kill you
It just wants to live and have babies
Making you sicker and sicker
You share it with everyone you meet
And it continues to grow and have babies
Until it has conquered the entire planet
And it is all because you didn’t wash your hands

And She Cries

And She Cries
By R.e. Taylor

She stopped living a long ago
Not knowing where her family is
She is locked in a wooden cage
Not much bigger than she

She used to be a child
Playing and living
Now she is nothing
She is beaten every day

And abused every night
While she sleeps, she dreams
Remembering her mom and dad
And she cries

Magic Of A Book

Magic Of A Book
By R.e. Taylor

There is something to know
Books can be dangerous
They have extraordinary powers
Powers you may not ever contain
Books can change your life
Show you things you could only imagine
Teach you things never thought of
And, given the chance, they will make you fly
All you have to do is open the pages
Open your mind and believe
The books will show you miracles
Improve your life and mind
And make you better
They can make you take flight

The 2020 Childhood

The 2020 Childhood
By R.e. Taylor

Times have changed
Children hung out together
Two, three, or more
Huddled close together
Planning something
Deciding what to do
Or maybe telling some dirty jokes
Always finding a way to get into trouble
Now, kids have to stay home
Locked inside with parents
No more fun times
Just isolation and loneliness
Not a way to be a kid

We Will Win

We Will Win
By R.e. Taylor

We are human beings
The most evolved species on the planet
Time has put us through so much
Trying our abilities
And trying to kill us
But we are so very strong
With so much intelligence
And so many abilities
Time and whatever it has
Tell it come on
We will fight
We will never give up
And we will win
We always have
And we always will
That is just who we are

Is There A Place?

Is There A Place?
By R.e. Taylor

Is there a place
Anywhere on this world
Somewhere man hasn’t touched
Concrete had never been discovered
And glass was still crystals of sand
There has to be a place
Animals still run wild and free
Plants grow tall to meet the Sun
Water flows smooth and clean
And the air smells of purity
Is there a place
Or has man ruined everything

Never Back Down

Never Back Down
By R.e. Taylor

I know you're scared
You want to run and hide
But there is nowhere safe
It will find you
It will hunt you out
Try to destroy you
You cannot let it
You are stronger than it is
All you have to do is face it
Stare it down
Show it that you are not afraid
Your fear will back down
It will die inside of you
I promise that you will remain strong
You will live to see another day
All because you have a heart it cannot beat
You know that is true

Now all you must do is believe it

We Are Australians

We Are Australians
By R.e. Taylor

You have heard about us
A country built by convicts
We have been through so much
We have suffered through the fires of Hell
Droughts and floods of biblical proportions
And a plague designed to kill everyone
You will see that we are strong
We will never stop fighting to survive
We are Australians and we will never give up
Just remember that...we are Australians
And we are warriors

Finding The Light

Finding The Light
By R.e. Taylor

People are not born in darkness
That comes much later
When their life loses love
Gives up on hope
And sadness fills every minute
Only then does the sun and moon
The millions of stars hide their light
Not sharing it with the fading souls
For too many there is no escape
The darkness just gets darker and darker
Until it becomes too late and the end comes
And the lost soul prays
They look to God for a single beam of light
A pathway to Heaven and maybe a smile
Hope, happiness, and a touch of love
Everything he didn’t have in life

Getting Older

Getting Older
By R.e. Taylor

I do not like it at all
Things are changing
And I am not who I used to be
Parts of me are missing
Other parts just don't work
And still others have changed colours
I miss the person I used to be
And all of the things I used to do
But, I have lived a long life
I guess all that I have become
Well, that could be a reward
Or maybe it could be a punishment
That all depends on the next 50 years
And what that me will be like

Looking At The Stars

Looking At The Stars
By R.e. Taylor

Every night it’s the same
The sun goes down
The moon comes up
The sun comes up again
And she watches it all
Warm milk doesn't help
Neither does a bath
Or a boring old book
She can't sleep
So, she watches out her window
Staring at the stars
Maybe watching the traffic light turn red
Most times she just prays
Often for a moment of sleep
Sadly, God must have been sleeping
Because every night it's the same
The sun goes down
The moon comes up
And she still lies awake looking at the stars

A Man Alone

A Man Alone
By R.e. Taylor

I don’t know you
Never had the honour of meeting you
I heard about you the day you died
Covered under a blanket of new snow
I can only imagine you were alone
That is the way I heard that you lived
No family or friendsno one ever
Just a long history you never talked about
So, you lived alone and died alone
Just the way you would have wished for
I am glad you did get your final wish
It would have been nice to mourn for you
But you would not have wanted that either
You rest my solitary hero
It doesn’t matter whether you want it or not
I promise you will be missed
And don’t you dare try arguing about it
