Skies Of Fire

It has happened in the past
Several times in history
The peaceful blue skies of Earth
Chased away by glowing fire
Most life suffers a painful death
Reborn in its most primitive form
Mountains crumble into dirt
Replaced by new ones
Raised up from the bowels of Hell
And the seas freeze under miles of ice
There is nothing we can do
Just surrender to our fate
Hoping that those who come after us
Do a better job than we ever did
They could never do worse than we did
