Your Happy Sunrise

Your Happy Sunrise
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Everyone knows that you hurt
Unbearable pain
But you still rise every morning
Just to see the sun rise
That one thing fills your heart
Making the pain go away
And brining a smile to your face
If only the sun could always rise
Your life would be happy again

Messy Hair

Messy Hair
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Messy hair means a lot to me
It takes a special kind of person
You do not spend hours before a mirror
It does not matter what people say
So, let the winds blow
Throw your brush out of the window
And run your fingers through it
It does not matter anymore
You are you and you are perfect

We Walked The Tracks

We Walked The Tracks
By Lord R.e. Taylor

It used to be so much fun
Walking the rails
Going for miles and miles
Without ever seeing a train
Every track eventually crossed a bridge
Walking with a little more caution
It was only then a train would come
Our heart started beating faster
There is no sense running
Our lives became jump or die
We did the only thing we could
Broken legs, cuts, and bruises later
We still walk the tracks
We still cross the bridges
I guess we will never learn

Death’s Messenger

Death’s Messenger
By Lord R.e. Taylor

For hundreds of years
The same stories have been told
Warnings of a fated death
Haunting you as you go through life
They are there whenever you look
Watching you and waiting
They know the moment you will die
And they are there to take you
Crying and pleading will not help
You are not going to have a choice
Death’s messenger is there for you
And it will not fail

Do Not Enter

Do Not Enter
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Everywhere you go
Signs tell you want to do
Stop, go, wait and many more
Most make at least some sense
But some are light red buttons
‘Do not enter’ all over the place
Danger lurks behind the sign
So many people know better
They know those signs hide secrets
Secrets not meant to be fun
But they usually are

Hell On Earth

Hell On Earth
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Behind the old walls
So much happened
So many people were murdered
Shot by squads of men
Just for saying the wrong thing
Talking to the wrong people
Or just being in the wrong place
Because of one madman
The wall was no longer just a wall
It became a hell on Earth

Your Own Star

Your Own Star
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Everyone has a special star
One which shines every night
Watching over its person
Making sure everything is alright
Waiting and watching for the moment
When a single wish is made
Then that star will shine brighter than ever
Knowing that its person is happy

Bargirl

Bargirl

What To Do

What To Do
By Lord R.e.Taylor

Will somebody tell him what to say
Or maybe he should be told what to do
Everything that used to be right
Is now offensive or just wrong
It changes every single day
And it never repeats

A Perfect Summer Day

A Perfect Summer Day
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Summer is a perfect season
Finding your place on the sand
A cool breeze coming off the Pacific
The scent of salt water in the air
Snags cooking on a charcoal grill
Mates drinking litres of XXXX
Some sheilas sunning on the sand
And some good old Aussie songs
Blasting on the radio
A day could never be better
And that is what Australia was made for

Looking Around

Looking Around
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I think I should look around
But I am afraid what I might see
Is the world as bad as I hear it is
Has all the good been chased away
Tales tell of people without hope
Wandering the roads to save their lives
Hiding away deep into the shadows
Praying that no one will find them
Mass graves with hundreds of bodies
Babies, children, and women killed
All because they were given life
Come to think of it I may not look around
I do not want to see what I might see
Because I do not think I could cry again
I may just be all out of tears

Waiting For My Friends

Waiting For My Friends
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Working all day
Drinking all night
Waiting for my friends
A few shots of whiskey
And God knows how many beers
But the time is going so slow
It is just another night
A few more shots of whiskey
And God knows how many beers
Waiting for my friends
Drinking a few more shots of whiskey
And a few more beers
Maybe I should just stop caring
Even if I do drink alone
At least I am drinking with my best friend

His Moments Of Love

His Moments Of Love
By Lord R.e. Taylor

They only met once
Speaking for mere minutes
You became someone special
Someone who entered his heart
He tried and tried, over and over again
But he could never find her again
So, he dreams of her
And when he does, he smiles
Remembering those few moments
And the woman who made him love

A Star For You

A Star For You
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Every has been told
Each star is special
The soul of someone lost
Everyone who went before
Yes, they do listen to us
When we talk, pray, or wish
They are there just as you were told
So, tell them your problems
Tell them your wishes and your prayers
They will always be there for you
And they will do what they can for you
That is their promise and their reason for being

Jessika’s Tears

Jessika’s Tears
By Lord R.e. Taylor

On the day Jessika was born
The world welcomed a new heart
Full of love and hope
But that was her lifetime ago
Now the world has turned its back
That little girl lives surrounded
Her family buried under tons of rubble
Now there is no one to give her cereal and milk
No one to tuck her into bed with her dolly
No one to kiss the tip of her nose and say ‘I love you’
Now she waits, and waits, and waits
Hoping someone will hear her weakening cries
And they will be there to give her cereal and milk
They will tuck her into bed with her dolly
And they will kiss the tip of her nose and say ‘I love you
Before Jessika becomes just another body to be buried

Something Unseen

Something Unseen
By Lord R.e. Taylor

There is something unseen
You can feel it when you awaken
You can hear it within the white noise
It gives you a reason to survive
It is there when it is needed most
You know the truth and you disbelieve
Some say it no longer exists
Your life is proof that it does
So, open your mind, your heart, and soul
Trust that the feelings you have are real
Soon, you will know what the universe knows
You will feel everything the universe feels
And just maybe you will come to understand
You are the universe, and the universe is you
All you have to do is believe in something unseen

Why Writers Drink

Why Writers Drink
By Lord R.e. Taylor

We write so much
Words after words
Thousands of ideas
One after another without end
Writer's block comes and goes
Sometimes lasting forever
But somehow, we always come back
Unending stress lives over us
With unending tears and laughs
Eating a whole mess of really bad food
And enjoying just enough sleep to stay alive
We suffer through it because we love it
But when the last word is written
Every one of us say the same thing
‘Christ, I need a drink’
Only then can we write the best two words
We write ‘The End’ and then we can start editing
And we drink even more

Where Is Humanity

Where Is Humanity
By Lord R.e. Taylor

People abandoned
Left behind by an idiot
Women and babies killed
Murdered by a madman
They never cared to know their names
Or even what they looked like
The world is going to Hell
Destroyed by a few people
Ones who do not really think
They would not care even if they did
All of the losses will continue
More people will die
More people will be forgotten
As long as we sit back and allow it
As long as we do not speak out
Until we remember what humanity is
Enjoy your life while you can
The world is only going to get worse

All Those Complaints

All Those Complaints
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Complain, complain, complain
It’s all you ever do
Twenty-four hours a day
Seven days a week
A little about this
A little about that
A whole lot of the other thing
It just never stops
I am usually the brunt of it
But I have to accept it
It is just who she is
And she isn’t going to change

Your Own Paradise

Your Own Paradise
By Lord R.e. Taylor

Life can be so hard
Sometimes too much to bear
There is usually no escape
Maybe you can disappear
Just vanish into the wind
Leave your world behind
Find somewhere you can be you
Somewhere no one can find you
Just you and your dreams
A paradise of your own
