We Are Dying

We Are Dying

The atmosphere is deadly
And it is killing us all
Polluted by stupidity and hatred
Too many are saying too many things
All of it nothing but hot air
And there is nothing anyone can do
We are strangled by a few people
Who do not have a heart or a soul
There is not one country immune
The stupidity and hated is universal
But it cannot last forever
The human race cannot survive it
We need someone to have some guts
Someone to stand up and say enough

Until then we all just have to suffer

I Am Me

I Am Me
By R.e. Taylor

Don’t let anyone tell you who you are
Don’t let them tell you who you should be
They do not know what you are thinking
They do not know what you are feeling
They do not know what you have been through
So, no matter what always be yourself
Don’t listen to what they have to say
It won’t matter if they like it or not
Stand up and yell, “I am me”
And then always remember that
No matter what

Precious Coal And Gas

Precious Coal And Gas

For two hundred years
His family farmed the land
Children were born
Elders had died
Still, the farm remained
Although they owned the land
It could still be given away
The government didn't care
The dollar signs were way too bright
Blinding them to their people's lives
The coal and gas were too precious
Wanted by foreign lands
So, they sold what they never owned
The farmer's tears and fighting wouldn’t help
The coal and gas were too precious
So the farmers would have to give up
Some just lost their land
Others lost their lives
But the government created to protect
Well, they never cared

The coal and oil were just too precious

Returning To A Small Town

Returning To A Small Town

I have traveled so many miles
From one coast to the other
Seen so many things
And met so many people
But there is a place
A small town well off the beaten track
With people only a resident can understand
And a lifestyle only a resident can love
One road in and one road out
Surrounded by bush and red soil
It is rarely a speck on the map
But it is my home
And despite my years of travel
Once I see the Blinman sign

My heart knows that I will never leave

Darkness Of Depression

Darkness Of Depression
By R.e. Taylor

How could darkness be so dark
Surrounding the heart
While strangling the soul
He can no longer smile
No longer see pleasure in anything
Still, he fights the urges he feels
He believes that there is one atom of light
There is no way for him to find it
For him it is far too small to see
He has looked to no avail
So, he looks around his universe
For just a glimmer of the light
That he hopes he will find
Before he is gone forever

A Weary Warrior

A Weary Warrior

His sword lays on the ground
He has been a warrior all his life
Fighting so many battles
But never attaining anything
He has tried to improve his life
But there was always another obstacle
Still he kept fighting
He never gave up the fight
Finally, his mind has given up on him
His body could no longer rise to fight
Still, he lived the way he thought he should
Now his battles are over
His wars are finished
And now is his time to rest

Beware A Angry Mother

Beware A Angry Mother

There is a fire
It burns deep inside of you
No one can see it but it is there
And it burns hotter than any Sun
You rarely show it
Only when a child is harmed
Then it shines so bright
The gods give you passage
You are a mother
Loving and ferocious
Bred to protect the young
It has always been in your nature
A power the universe needs

And every child deserves
