Trials Of A Parent

Trials Of A Parent

Why did I grow up?
I should have known better
My parents suffered
Worrying about life
How to provide for everyone
How to make sure we would learn
Throughout the years I heard them cry
But I also heard them laugh
As the years passed by
Now, I am grown with my own kids
And I have the same worries
And I wonder when I lay down to sleep
How did they make it?
How did they live without their mind burning?
I will never know since I never asked them
But I loved them, and I hope that in future years
My kids will think back and remember
Just as I do now
What parents suffer through to give them a good life
And they know they will know they will get through it

Just like we did so many years before
