Be A Girl Again

Be A Girl Again
By R.e. Taylor

What happened to the little girl
The one I knew as she grew up
Playing hopscotch all day
Barbies in the evening
And laughing when someone stepped on a jack
That was the girl who climbed trees
And rough housed with the boys
She grew up and became a woman
Strong, proud and sure of herself
Inside her though hides that little girl
Who wants to play hopscotch and Barbies
Laughs when someone steps on a jack
And still wants to climb trees and rough house
Let her out once in a while and be a girl again
