The World’s Signs

Once in a while
Maybe a great while
The world will look around
And finally say, “That’s enough!”
It will send us signs of its anger
Earthquakes, storms and fires
All just to tell us to step back
Take a look at what we are doing
And do something different
And we better do it quick
After all she knows we need her
And she also knows that she doesn’t need us
The world really doesn’t want us to leave
But she won’t miss us if we do
