Reaching Out

How long has it been
I never forgot you
The times we walked together
When the sunset brightened your eyes
And everything made you smile
Our fingers wrapped together
Through that we became an us
Now, I can no longer hold your hand
Still, whenever I walk, wherever I walk
I reach out for your hand but, it is never there
And I know, in my heart, that it never will be
