I Hope To Tell You

By the time you read this

I hope that I have worked up my nerves

I know that it has been way too long

And our lives have moved on

We have said maybe a dozen words to each other

But we have never spoken our truths

Now, perhaps it is time before you read this

I have never fallen out of love with you

Maybe these few words will change things

Maybe not, but I can always hope

Can’t I?
