A Man Alone

A Man Alone
By R.e. Taylor

I don’t know you
Never had the honour of meeting you
I heard about you the day you died
Covered under a blanket of new snow
I can only imagine you were alone
That is the way I heard that you lived
No family or friendsno one ever
Just a long history you never talked about
So, you lived alone and died alone
Just the way you would have wished for
I am glad you did get your final wish
It would have been nice to mourn for you
But you would not have wanted that either
You rest my solitary hero
It doesn’t matter whether you want it or not
I promise you will be missed
And don’t you dare try arguing about it
