For Lack Of A Smile

It has been a long time
Far too long since anyone has seen a smile
You know that people still do it
But they are hidden away
So that no one ever sees them
Said it is to keep you safe
Ordered by people who really don’t know
We will wait as long as it takes
And someday, someone will flash a smile
Only then will the hell be over
