The Smiles He Lost

His thoughts have changed
He was happy and smiling
That left years ago
As the sadness grew inside of him
And tears replaced the smiles
Life became so unimportant
With a bottle of alcohol and a handful of pills
And having an attitude that didn’t care
Things suddenly became so much better
When he crossed through the gates of Heaven
He once again found his smile
This time he would never lose it
All his pain was gone
And God blessed him
