The Lantern’s Light

You really cannot imagine
The joy I get coming around the bend
Just seeing the glow from that lantern
That one thing tell me life is good
Life has not forsaken me
And my home is closer than it has been
So many lonely nights and empty dreams
Have lead to the beauty I am seeing now
And knowing you are behind that door
It will keep my heart beating and my soul waiting
Just to once again hold you in my arms
Tell you that I do love you
And that I will always be yours alone
All that from the light of just one lantern
A lantern which means life and love
Maybe making a lonely man smile
And never want to leave home again
