Watch What You Write

I do not know what to write
I have the words lined up
They really are good words
But I do not want to be in trouble
Saying something that will get someone mad
Maybe use a word that hurts their feelings
My mom may have been right
If you cannot say anything nice
Do not say anything at all
So from now on, I will write about smiles
Cute little puppy dogs and wildflowers
No one will ever get mad or cry
And I will never have to delete another great poem
