The Loneliness Of Home

The Loneliness Of Home

I wonder what it would be like
Smelling the scents of home
Walking the downtown streets
Alone and feeling empty
Knowing that we belong together
Just like we were so many years ago
But time has passed so quickly
And the city is no longer what I remember
Gone are the places we used to go
The places that made us smile
It is almost as if home doesn't exist
And the hand I used to hold is no longer around
But, I can still feel you with me
Holding my hand and kissing me
Smiling as I tell you that I love you
I know that is just a dream
One which may never come true
So, my home is no longer my home

It is just a lonely memory that I should forget
