Poetry is a
solitary endeavor
We always
create alone
Just our
hearts, minds, and souls
Raising each
poem as our child
Waiting for it
to be born and grow
Keeping it safe
until the time finally comes
When we reveal
it to the world
Share it with
an audience of those like us
People who
bleed the same blood we do
Other who shed
the same tears
Only then will
the words we write become poetry
