Jessika’s Tears

Jessika’s Tears
By Lord R.e. Taylor

On the day Jessika was born
The world welcomed a new heart
Full of love and hope
But that was her lifetime ago
Now the world has turned its back
That little girl lives surrounded
Her family buried under tons of rubble
Now there is no one to give her cereal and milk
No one to tuck her into bed with her dolly
No one to kiss the tip of her nose and say ‘I love you’
Now she waits, and waits, and waits
Hoping someone will hear her weakening cries
And they will be there to give her cereal and milk
They will tuck her into bed with her dolly
And they will kiss the tip of her nose and say ‘I love you
Before Jessika becomes just another body to be buried
