We Walked The Tracks

We Walked The Tracks
By Lord R.e. Taylor

It used to be so much fun
Walking the rails
Going for miles and miles
Without ever seeing a train
Every track eventually crossed a bridge
Walking with a little more caution
It was only then a train would come
Our heart started beating faster
There is no sense running
Our lives became jump or die
We did the only thing we could
Broken legs, cuts, and bruises later
We still walk the tracks
We still cross the bridges
I guess we will never learn
