Impossible Life

Impossible Life

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Someone somewhere has found meaning

Counting grains of white sand

Covering a beach in a tropical land

It is something that doesn't make sense

A job that could never be completed

But he spends his life doing the same thing

Day after day, year after year

To him it makes perfect sense

He made the impossible his life

And he has a unique pride in his efforts

Something so many others lack

Tough For The Times

Tough For The Times

By Lord R.e. Taylor

You have to be tough

Show how to be rough

The times are bad now

And they will only get worse

So, stand your ground

Defend yourself and keep safe

But do not punish others

Everything is nobody's fault

Just fight back as hard as you can

Only by doing that to your best

The Human Race can survive

And make it to a better day

Bev’s Treasure

Bev’s Treasure

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Some people hunt for gold

Others dream of opals

There are some who don’t want treasure

At least not the kind worth millions

They endlessly search the beaches

Oceans, inland seas, or massive lakes

Anywhere where shipping took place

Bottles were thrown overboard

Smashed on the water’s rocks below

Beaten by the actions of nature

Creating a special kind of gemstone

But to that one woman everyone knows

Who always hunts the foot of East Ave.

Every piece of beach glass she finds

Is the most valuable treasure in the world

I Will Wait

I Will Wait

By Lord R.e. Taylor

I was so happy

You brought me home

Loved me

Made me a part of your family

We would go for walks or rides

So many things I shared with you

But I was just a puppy back then

Over time I grew larger

You stopped loving me

I do not know why

But you took me for a ride

My tail was wagging

I could not sit down

Maybe you loved me again

Now, I cried as you drove away

Tied to a tree, I could not go with you

Just know that I still love you

And I will wait here for you

Because I know that you will come back

After all, I am still your family

Poetry Is To Be Shared

Poetry Is To Be Shared

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Poetry is a solitary endeavor

We always create alone

Just our hearts, minds, and souls

Raising each poem as our child

Waiting for it to be born and grow

Keeping it safe until the time finally comes

When we reveal it to the world

Share it with an audience of those like us

People who bleed the same blood we do

Other who shed the same tears

Only then will the words we write become poetry

One Step Too Many

One Step Too Many

By Lord R.e. Taylor

Man can advance so far

Things which could not be predicted

Making the world better

Because he did not take baby steps

He was not careful with every move

The risks increased beyond imagination

All it takes is a single mistake

And the heavens will suffer for it

Moons and planets will be damaged

Some will be destroyed with all their life

Just because man went one step too far

Birth Of A New Month

Birth Of A New Month

By R.e. Taylor

The sun sets as a month ends

Not exactly the best

It brought us illness and hatred

With lives lost and livelihoods gone

Complete chaos never seen before

Hopefully when the sun rises

A new month will come with it

The world will return to normal

Not the “New Normal” a few want

Just the normal where people care

It probably will never happen

But we can hope can’t we
