No Sleep

No Sleep
By Lord R.e. Taylor

I went out last night
Coming home about three AM
It took me hours to sleep
Long after the Sun rose
You, however, slept all night
Waking when the crows screamed
Then came the punishment of the gods
You started talking
Talking about money and bills
How to spend every penny I had
Talking about the weather
About the cursed political world
Anything and everything that came to mind
Nonstop you spoke and spoke
It was then a thought came to mind
Since I met you so long ago
You have never, ever stopped talking
I guess you are a blessing and a curse
If you would or could shut up
Maybe for just an hour or two
I could be the happiest man alive
But that will never happen
So, I lie here dreaming about sleep
Such is my hopeless fate
