You Were A Palace

You Were A Palace
By Lord R.e. Taylor

You were someone’s dream
They shed blood, sweat, and tears
Working to make sure that you were just right
Making sure that you were a palace
Fit for the stuffiest of royals
Suddenly the world changed for the worse
The ones who cared so much for you
They walked away and never looked back
You died that day after living a dream life
Now you are just a shell
Still a palace but not the same palace
No one wants you
And few even know you exist
They do not know what they are missing
But as long as you stand maybe someone will
