Peaceful Protests

It all happened long ago
Maybe a few hundred lifetimes
Not really, but it seems like it
People gathered by the thousands
To carry signs and chant
Take over some buildings
And hold a sit-in to make their point
No one ever hurt an innocent person
Or destroyed someone’s life
But things have seriously changed
Protestors now are just rioters
Setting out to just destroy
It does not matter what or who
They prowl and attack
Unlike any human is capable of
Yes, peaceful protests are just history
Maybe the young are just too stupid
To learn its lessons
