The Sad Girl Smiles

She may not have a penny to her name
She does not have a crust of bread
Or even a soft pillow to rest her head
But she will never give up
Life has given her so much
So, sometimes she has to smile
Even when her tears flow down
She manages to hide her pain
She has to stay strong and fight on
Because God has given her a baby
Blessed her beyond anything she imagined
Someone to love, protect, and smile for
So, that young girl will do the best she can
For both herself and the one she loves
