Drought

Drought
by Lord R.e. Taylor

Month after month
Sometimes for years
The clouds never come
The air just dries everything
The grasses and trees turn brown
Animals die in the fields
And families pray for a touch of rain
No matter how many people pray
Or how much they sacrifice
Only dust fills their lives
When rain finally does come
Even if it is for just a single day
It is a life-renewing celebration
A sign that God does hear prayers
And that He does care for His children
