The Winter Moon

The Winter Moon
by Lord R.e. Taylor

The full moon on a winter's eve
Casts a strange light across the horizon
It creates dark shadows all around
Giving the night an evil glow
Maybe it is safe to travel alone
But that could be your worst mistake
The light that you see is not common
It only arrives when the Earth is just right
It is not known why it comes or who sends it
But you will hear screams of pain and terror
And you may see stains in the snow
Sadly, you will not see the people who went out
They may be dead, or they may just be missing
A few of us know the truth, but we will never say
That would take all of the fun away
And we sure would not want that
Would we?
