I Miss My White Christmas

I Miss My White Christmas
By Lord R.e. Taylor

When I was a kid, I didn’t know what I had
Waking up on Christmas morning
Not looking for presents until later
I looked out of the front door
Always hoping for a covering of virgin snow
As an adult, I made the mistake of moving
Settling down in the southern tropics
Now Christmas is met with palm trees
And the annoying sounds of lorikeets
I would give everything I have or will have
To see one more white Christmas
Just like the ones that I left behind
